Under the direct supervision of the Common Ground Outreach and Engagement Supervisor and the Director, the Lead Prevention Advocate will coordinate all outreach locations in SPAs 5 and 8.
The Lead Outreach Prevention Advocate will:
Monitor the outreach vehicles and ensure locations are appropriately staffed.
Provide harm reduction services, overdose reversal education, provide community resources and dispose of collected syringes in an appropriate manner.
Coordinate new locations in the community and have community contacts to help guide our outreach locations.
Assess locations for additional services such as case management and rapid testing.
Monitor staffs engagement with clients while out in the field and provide feedback to the Outreach and Engagement Supervisor.
Monitor data collection in the field.
Provide coverage in the harm reduction storefront and participate in supply ordering and management.
Assist with training new staff and volunteers.
Work closely with the Outreach and Engagement Supervisor.

Salary range: $30.53 - $40.30 Hourly
Qualifications
We are looking for an effective leader with a strong background in harm reduction and:
Strong working knowledge of harm reduction.
Bachelor’s degree in social work from a program approved by the Council on Social Work Education and one year of experience; OR an equivalent combination of education experience.
Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Strong working knowledge of HIV testing and treatment, PrEP/PEP, Syphilis and Hepatitis C.
Public speaking and leadership ability, and ability to work independently and as part of a group with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Skill in motivational interviewing.
The ability to manage many deadline, and complete required program documentation.
The ability to engage special populations and discuss sensitive matters in a non-judgmental manner, and respect confidentiality.
Valid and unrestricted CA State Driver’s License and proof of insurance. This position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
