The role you'll contribute:
The Respiratory Support will have overall responsibility for equipment and supplies. This will include assisting with inventory, stocking, and monitoring of supply par levels. Responsibilities also include equipment cleaning, maintenance, set-up, checking, and transporting of equipment throughout the hospital. In addition, the Respiratory Support will be responsible for referral intake for home oxygen service and coordinating set-up with DME companies.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Responsible for processing patient referrals and coordinating home oxygen services.
Screens information on all referrals for completeness, accuracy, appropriateness, and eligibility.
Verifies and accurately documents demographics, financial/insurance information, and special instruction.
Review referrals and verify all physician orders and information. Follow-up with physician regarding any missing information.
Determine need for case management intervention.
Provide clinical assessment information to the referral company for home oxygen set-up and service.
Educate patients on available resources. Follow-up on patient questions or concerns regarding services.
Delivers successful service to our internal and external customers by adhering to critical success standards: demonstrating accountability and commitment to quality and safety standards; taking ownership in the financial success of the hospital with appropriate resource use and management; providing exceptional customer service; and exerting effort to ensure a positive work environment that demonstrates dedication to the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred:
Degree in a healthcare field.
Enrolled in Accredited Respiratory Care Program OR Graduated from Accredited Respiratory Care Program and eligible for CO State Licensure.
One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
Previous home care, hospice and DME experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology, home health services and regulatory standards.
Excellent customer service, organization, and analytical skills Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English Strong computer skills.
