Position Summary: The Vocational Mental Health Therapist (VMHT) for the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) serves clients with severe and persistent mental health challenges whose employability or job adjustment may be impaired by physical, mental, behavioral or other impairment conditions. The VMHT prepares adult clients for work activities and/or jobs in their communities by delivering counseling and case management services and partnering with the local business community to determine a job match and/or create customized employment. The VMHT maintains a client caseload following established treatment guidelines and agency policies and procedures by providing evidence-based therapeutic intervention that are individually matched to the needs of each client, provides referrals to other services and programs in the community as needed, and actively advocates on behalf of the client. Incumbents may be required to participate in an on-call schedule and/or perform work outside of normal business hours.
Minimum Requirements: One (1) years of experience providing mental health counseling services preferred Experience in job development for individuals with mental health disabilities.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors Degree in a behavioral health related field or four years of experience working with people with disabilities or a combination of education and experience required Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration upon hire Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state. May also require reliable vehicle for client transport.
