Social Worker
JOB SUMMARY:
Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute (PBPRI) at Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center is seeking a full-time social worker. In this role, a social worker has responsibilities to evaluate and treat patients and their family members who experience psychosocial issues resulting from neurological conditions and diagnoses that include, but are not limited to, traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease, ALS, MS, Huntington's disease, and tumor. PBPRI is the outpatient interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Our social worker collaborates with colleagues in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology to promote community re-entry, and vocational and/or academic transitioning for the patients at PBPRI.
Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct psychosocial evaluations and therapy sessions for patients with acquired brain injury
Provide case management services for patient/family
Patient/family education
Interdisciplinary teamwork

The Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute (PBRI) expands the traditional services of the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center by providing comprehensive neuro-rehabilitation services including:
The Institute serves as the neurological outpatient rehabilitation center for adolescents and adults at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Common neurological diagnoses treated include traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors and balance disorders. An individualized, structured program is designed for each patient with a goal of maximizing independence in physical, cognitive and emotional functioning.
Our therapists work together as a team to ensure they are addressing issues with physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning, as well as communication, visual perception and daily living. Because the goals of each phase of the rehabilitation process differ, each outpatient therapy program may emphasize different therapies and different levels or aspects of functioning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains professional documentation which meets department and VUMC standards as it relates to compliance.
Provides brief targeted interventions for identified clients.
Completes psychosocial assessment and assists team with the development of the plan of care.
Provides education and or consultation to clients and families, treatment team and community.
Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.

Able to prepare simple contingency plans and alternatives.

REQUIRED:
Master's Degree (or equivalent experience)

Licensed Master Social Worker
Additional Qualification Information:
Must hold a current Tennessee Social Work License. Candidates who have recently graduated from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work or have moved to TN with another State's Master Social Work license are allowed a provision to obtain licensure from the TN State Board within six (6) months of hire date.
