Job SummaryThis position provides supportive counseling and case management services to adult behavioral health clients. Supportive counseling may include symptom management and skills training. Case management includes care coordination, resource identification and development, advocacy, service monitoring and follow-up, collateral supports. Provides person-centered supportive counseling, assessment of needs, skills training, advocacy and case management for clients
Assists in developing problem-focused, goal-oriented treatment plans which address the specific needs of the consumer and specific anticipated clinical outcomes.
Provides comprehensive community support activities to assigned caseload, including assistance in identifying and utilizing community resources, liaison with other agencies and organizations, referral to appropriate community programs, completion of all necessary reports.
Functions as a consumer advocate in relation to the mental health system, community agencies, and the consumer's support system, as needed.
Coordinates discharge planning, including referral to appropriate agencies for ongoing needs.
Ability to respond to clients with empathy, maintaining their dignity and confidentiality
Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, communicates effectively verbally and in writing, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrates kind and collaborative behavior
Ability to work within the structure of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to utilize de-escalation techniques to assist clients with behavioral challenges

Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration within 30 days of hire unless a higher credential is held (Minimum)
AA or BA preferred.
Preferred - experience working with Seriously and Persistently Mentally Ill Adults or in a Behavioral Health setting Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.This position may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength.
