Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The Occupational Health Nurse (“OHN”) will be responsible for the provision of quality health
care services in the Occupational/Employee Health (“OH”) department at GW Medical Faculty Associates (“MFA”). The OHN will perform OH services under the guidance and direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager - Occupational Health. The OHN will provide professional nursing and occupational health services to MFA’s staff, that support their health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace. The OHN will collaborate with MFA managers to promote a healthy workforce and support workplace safety, through the planning, implementation and management of health and safety programs, health promotion initiatives, and education of employees on OHSA and other workplace safety requirements. The OHN will collaborate with managers, and our third party administrator to ensure appropriate workplace injury reporting and management of Workers Compensation cases. S/he will act as a resource on OH matters to Human Resources and other care providers and staff.
The OHN will be responsible for the provision of day to day OH services while ensuring organizational and departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory and governmental standards. In accordance with OSHA record keeping requirements the OHN will maintain the confidential occupational health records for all MFA employees including physicians, allied health professionals, administrative and clerical staff. Service provision will include MFA employees at locations throughout the DC metropolitan area, Maryland, Virginia, and internationally.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia; (or current license in other jurisdiction with evidence of application for licensure as required for practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia Boards of Nursing).
working toward, or willing to complete the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses Occupational Health Nurse Certification.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing ( BSN) or comparable combination of education/experience
1-3 years clinical practical experience in an occupational health setting. Workers’ compensation program management and case management experience.
