Each HUC shall coordinate and maintain a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services of assigned patient care unit(s) in support of nursing services. This is including, but not limited to, maintenance requests, patient supplies, dietary requests, clerical support, answering phones, and related unit-support functions.
Answer and disseminate all incoming calls from reception and intake in a professional and courteous manner. Assist RNâ€™s to ensure patient discharges run in a timely manner.
Prepare and process new patient packets.
Print and update Patient labels and binder.
Update Bed-board and White-Boards with Discharges, Intakes and Transfers.
Begin and update Nursing Report Sheet
Complete dietary order and create dietary card.
Utilize the paging system to announce callers as required.
Fax RX orders to Pharmacy.
File all Lab Reports; transcribed Psychiatric Doctorâ€™s note and Authorization letters/information in patient files.
Assist Internal Medicine Doctors with patients and charts.
Coordinate transfer paperwork for patients going to Hospitals.
Escort Visitors/Case Managers to unit when needed.
Organize unit/monitor medical and office supplies. Report all maintenance and IT issues through Facility Dude.
Update ROI Binder and perform a variety of clerical projects as assigned.
Create Room Assignment tags.
Attend all mandatory facility in services and staff development activities as scheduled.
Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
Will be crossed trained to cover Reception Desk and Q-15â€™s on an emergency basis.
